Cruise FM started in early 2008. The radio station was born from Disco Entertainers research that NO LOCAL RADIO catered for the all important active 18-55s age group with a family slant to parents with children from the age of 3-18 still living at home.

Johnny Dryden, owner/operator of Cruise FM decided to point the music towards a ROCK POP format from yesterday and today. Cruise FM plays music from The Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Tom Petty, Midnight Oil, Bon Jovi, Destiny's Child, Kings of Leons, Riharna, Beyonce, Adam Lambert and won't bore you with long talk breaks on air or heaps of commercials. We're a local radio station broadcasting on 100.4FM in Tokoroa, 107.7FM in Putaruru, 104.4FM across Mangakino, Whakamaru and the North King Country, and also in Taumarunui and Manunui on 88.3FM
